A common working range for fragrance in melt and pour soap is 2–3% of the base weight, but never exceed the lower of the soap base’s published maximum and the fragrance supplier’s current IFRA Category 9 limit. Use only skin-safe fragrance intended for rinse-off soap. For color, use a melt-and-pour-compatible colorant, follow that colorant supplier’s rate, and add it gradually until the desired shade is reached. Different dyes, micas, pigments, and clear or white bases behave differently, so test a small batch first.
